At least I had one awesome winter before @kingslug moved here.

As soon as he arrived we had a poor winter last season & a near record-breakingly bad season this year. Ski Utah may pay for him to leave!

Last season it snowed every weekend and alta ended up with 540 inches.
Bad season?

Well it was definitely below average. Is that bad? I'd say so, but not like this year obviously.

BLUE = AT Great
RED = AT Bad
TURQUISE = Last year
LIGHT GREEN = Average

So you can see, most of last season was below average. So yes, a bit less than average at 540, but when that snow comes matters too in terms of being useful to ski on. Most of the ski season was running well below average for snowfall, and then March and April absolutely went off (but really it was March w/12 feet of snow!).

Put another way, by March 2025, Alta has 13 FEET less snow last year than the good year before in 23-24 that I was mentioning. As for PCMR, it averages more than 271 inches, maybe that's base, but PCMR claims 355 inches, which is probably either Jupiter or Daybreak, but all mountains claim their highest peak. LIke that 540 quoted for Alta I'll bet is someplace way up high.
