Hey All,
I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain. I left Allentown at 3:10PM and it was 49 degrees under mostly cloudy skys. I rocked out to some Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen, along with MA$E/Puff Daddy...Can't nobody take my pride..Can't nobody hold me down..oh no..I've got to keep on moving. I arrived at the lower lot at 3:40PM and there were a solid amount of cars..maybe 100+ and 5 busses. The temperature was 46 degrees and I was a two layer player with the vents open in my helmet. Initially there was no line for the 6-pack but then a smallish 1-2 minute backup formed until they opened the quad around 5:00PM.
On to the skiing. Conditions were fast and overall pretty cruddy with lots of mashed potatoes and applesauce. Not horrible but not great. Challenge had nice smooth snow on the top and the middle section was choppier but there weren't many people on it. Razors Edge, Sidewinder from the top, and Switchback remained closed. The bumps on Main Street were great and I hit them twice. They were soft yet fast and nobody was skiing them..but the bottom of Main Street had alot of carnage from all the people going down Chute and Midway.
Near the end of my session I ran into Jim and his buddy and rode the lift with them. I heard his friends voice and it was really high pitched and I assumed it was a woman and I said to Jim before I looked at the friend,"Is this your wife"..and Jim laughed and thought I was joking. Then I took a closer look at his friend and realized it was a dude... Kind of like the song Dude Looks Like a Lady..only he talked like one as well..mad Homer Simpson..Doh I skied a few runs with them. Jim demoed some skis earlier but the Demo trucks were long gone during my session and I'm not a big fan of demo-ing because it cuts into my vert. In total I skied 14 runs in 2.5 hours. Now I'm eating some Pizza. I don't think I'm going to ski tomorrow in the rain..
