I just got back late last night from a great trip. Went to MS with the wife and neighbors and skied full days Saturday and Sunday. Conditions were great with near full coverage. Although the lines on the Summit and Canyon Quad were long the trails were relatively empty for a holiday weekend. Carinthia and Sunbrook were the most empty. TNF had great coverage, especially in the trees. Run of the weekend was hands down Overbrook with it's untracked and ungroomed powder. My wife went home with neighbors on Monday and I skied MS from first chair until about 11:00. It was a bit cold and I basically had the mountain to myself. I got changed, into the car and headed up to Burlington to pick up my friend who was flying in from JFK to ski a few days with me. We got a good rate on a place in Stowe and decided wake up early and drive to Jay the first day.

Visibility at Jay was quite limited but the snow was real good. I'm sorry I can't give you a play by play of areas as it was my first time there and I had my friend showing me around. The mountain is very fun and challenging. I've never skied anything like it.

The next day I finally got to see Stowe during the day. What a beautiful mountain! Similar to Jay I followed my friend around the mountain and didn't pay much attention to what trails we hit. Conditions were good, although some areas were windblown.

There is no comparison to what I usually ski and these two mountains. I've already planned my next trip (with my wife this time!) up to Stowe as I think she'll benefit from some less crowded lessons on Spruce Peak.

Sorry for the lack of details on this TR. I'm trying to let some dust settle over here and get back to reality.

Pictures can be found here. The first three are on Overbrook at Mount Snow; the rest are Jay and Stowe.

Wow. Talk about not picking a better time to head up there. Pics are great. Those bump runs at Stowe look sweet.

That bump run was actually on Spruce Peak. The trail was called Smuggler's something or other. There's some nice narrow intermediate and advanced runs over there. They planned it out nice.

During the 2000-2001 season the big bolder next to the trail in picture 1410 was completely buried. Right now there is a lot of snow but that year was RIDICULOUS :)
