You're not really doing either area justice.....

Whiteface: new triple will service a new mountain area, Lookout Mountain, and feature 2,200 vertical to the base (1,600 vertical for the lift), expert and intermediate terrain and 55 acres of hardwood glades.

Gore: new HSQ will service Gore's five new trails and glades on its fourth mountain, Burnt Ridge, with over 1,400 vertical and will increase Gore's overall vertical to 2,300 feet (8th-most in the East).

I wouldn't count on Blue getting those "two new" trails done in time..... they've already been cut for the past two years or so and recent pictures I've seem still don't include any snowmaking equipment there underway.

that must be a tad frustrating for the regulars. Ever enough natural to poach them?

I only know of Killington's HSQ and SR's Chondola. Jay is building their new hotel and there is "talk" about an HSQ on Bonny Side next summer.

I only know of one day where it could have been poached without trashing your equipment and even that day would've been pretty sketchy as GSS somewhat trashed his Atomic's doing a marquee route that had similar cover... We simply haven't had the snow down here the past few years...This year we're going to get smacked (I HOPE!!!)

Hopefully they'll get their smack together and stop worrying about keeping reality tv show crews happy...

No definite word on who will be running the ski school. There were hardly any instructors left, and they were all miserable, so it is doubtful it will be internal.

I am sure John has a short list.

A major step in the right direction.

Too bad they waited long enough to lose out on Donny Boyce.

I wonder if he would have returned.

I noticed this on the bottom of the season pass email from hunter...

added a few items to our mountain operations arsenal, such as an environmentally friendly high-pressure compressor, 40 new snow guns that each operate on 1/10 of the energy used by some of our present guns and a beefed up grooming fleet.

Looks like more snowmaking for hunter...wonder where the guns are going if they're fixed mount.

  • Mohawk - replacing the summit double chairlift with a used triple from Loon

I've seen pictures of the used triple Mohawk is installing and it doesn't match any old lift from Loon. I've heard the Loon rumor before but I've never heard the source. The old North Peak Triple was sold to Shawnee Peak Maine
