I think you must be thinking of a different ski than the Burnin' Luv. The Burnin Luv is an Advanced/Expert Frontside Carver ski. With a 70mm waist it's about as far as you can get from a powder ski.
Even the Lotta Luv makes for a pretty good eastern all mountain performance ski. It's basically the women's equivalent of an Apache Recon and that's not a ski that springs to mind to grab on a big powder day. It's a 50%/50% groomed/ungroomed all mountain ski. A 130 pound woman who doesn't have a lot of leg strength should be able to flex it in shorter lengths. The integral binding system and mounting plate make the ski fairly heavy going from the parking lot to the snow but that's true of most performace skis with intergral bindings. If you go foam core and flat to cut the weight, you're not going to get the edge grip you need in the east in a performance ski.
I suspect the problem many people experience is that you really can't skid a performance all mountain ski. The edge wants to lock unless you dull the tune to the point where it has poor edge grip. You have to carve it. It makes for a lousy intermediate ski. That has nothing to do with men and women.
