Hey All,
I'm back from a fun RAW Right After Work session at Blue mountain the true mountain. On the drive up I rocked out to Snoop Dogg and Chicago..it wasn't Saturday in the park but it was Thursday before it got dark. I pulled into the upper lot at 359PM and it was 39 degrees under partly sunny skys..mad goldilocks..not to warm..not to cold..just right. I first skied Chute to lower main street and the snow was soft but pretty fast with fairly strong winds. Not to choppy due to the lack of traffic. I'm guessing there were around 200 people based on the cars in the parking lot. I then skied Razors edge which had more winterlike snow..hardpack but a little soft on the top and soft carvable mini chunks lower down followed by spring snow on Homestretch. Razors was good enough for a repeat and at the bottom, I saw NazarethSkier Jay with his new helmet.
We skied Lazy Mile which had soft hero snow..then Razors and then Barneys Bumps. Barneys Bumps were pretty solid and just barely skiable..not good enough for a repeat IMHO..In My Humble Opinion. Paradise was nice and there weren't any whistle blowing skicops. Dreamweaver was also decent..a little chunky around the sharp turn. Switchback was sort of rough and I didn't bomb it..it was all about slow and deliberate turns followed by mad steezy air off all 4 of the mini-booters in the lower park. I looked for Schifdawg but didn't see him.
I skied until about 630PM and ended up with 15 runs in total..it will be nice parking at the lower lot again this weekend. The upper lodge just means more traversing but it's tolerable. Any way you slice it or dice it today was JADIP..Just Another Day in Paradise..I'll be back tomorrow afternoon..anybody else???
