3 Hours to the border via Franconia and St.J, 3 Hours from the border to Quebec city, via Magog and route 55 and 20... then a half hour or so from Quebec city.

It's 221 miles, if you average 73 miles an hour, its three hours... I don't really think 73 is excesive?

Plus once you get into Quebec, the highways are much faster in my experience, with the average speed between 80 and 85 mph...

you gotta factor in stops at the toll and the border, plus i always drop the speed down to 60-65 when going through manch and concord where cops love to bag people for speeding. and it's slower going through the notch. always took me just under three hours from boston to burke so i would figure 3.5-4 to get to the border since it is 60 miles from St.J.

Oh, OK. It's only 30 mins beyond Quebec City. Figured it was much further. Only 221 from Boston  ? Would have figured much longer. It's about 150-175 from Boston to Burke, and about 35 from Burke to the border, so something isn't adding up here  Is it 320?

There is the google maps version, 217 miles... It says 4 and a half hours, however, its really not that slow. A little under an hour to Concord, A little under an hour to Cannon from there... and then a little over an hour from there to the border...

It doesn't really matter, and I don't feel as if I'm a super fast driver or anything, its really about driving straight through and not stopping, thats what makes a quick trip.

PS if you're up for a morning or afternoon of driving, you should check out Saint Anne and Le Massif, superb skiing, with a good base!!

OK, I see the problem. 221 gets you from Boston to Derby, VT. Makes sense. Then add, what 100 more or less to LeMassif? Now it adds up.

I've read good things about Le Massif.

maybe this is some freak day after tommorrow changing of the weather patterns. If we're lucky, it will stay warm and start snowing in June. Summer skiing in a tank top baby....and pondskimming everyday!!! How about glaciers in NYC...now whos driving to go skiing? Maybe this is just the kick that skiing needs.

NO INSTALLING FREIGHTERS OF SNOW GUNS!! you know murphys law. our luck we'll get stuck in a forever summer and the snow will reverse course to colorado.
