So, my oldest just turned 6 in mid January and she is in her 3rd season of skiing now pretty consistently. She always seemed to love it....perhaps its Daddy time, perhaps being outside in the snow, or I'd like to hope and think that she actually inherited the ski gene, which has been passed down through my Father to me.

So now as she is in Kindergarten and starting to read, she has been constantly studying the Catamount (our home mtn) trail map. I got home from work last night and she was getting ready for bed in the bathroom with the wife and she was reading the trail map. So, I took her into my room and showed her the shoebox filled with older trail maps and she was like a kid in a candy store! My wife asked if seeing that is better than sex for me!.

That is cool. While my oldest enjoys skiing, I don't think she is going to ever get totally whacky about it. I have a feeling my little one might though.

i think the key for me was the fact when i was young we only went for two one week trips and maybe a few day trips. so i always wanted more. i dont know if i would have been as nutty as i am if we had gone every weekend and took it for granted.
