Indeed. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to ride it one last time on Friday.

I tried to get our last ride on video, but for some reason the camera didn't take them... :(

I prefer to look forward instead of backward so I don't really see it as a sad day in skiing history. Indeed, it is a glorious day because we will ski onto a Single Chair again next season, it will still be there though upgraded for the 21st century :) Still scoring powder on my last ride on the single at 4p today was damn fun :D Also was pretty damn cool watching Mr. Friedman and sons and Mr. Quackenbush take the last chairs up. If you feel strongly about the Single, be part of its future.

I agree. I am not sad. If it was giving way to an HSQ, like the single at Stowe did, then yes, it would be a sad day. But it is getting a much needed facelift.

I'm not at all sad, just the opposite. Been meaning to check out MRG for awhile. Knowing that the chair was being retired pushed me to get there this Saturday. Me and V are both happy we did. Chair may be gone, mountain isn't, we'll be back.

Good points guys, I'm not sad about it either. I'm just glad I got a chance to ride the original one last time. I hope to get a chance to ride the new one next season. :)

Sad? No. I guess you're right, but it was neat to ride the original. And I ponied up some cash on Friday. Just a few dollars, but if everyone did that each visit, it would help.
