Well, right now we have open challenges for both Hunter and Jay Peak, but I know there are more who would be interested in participating. Can you guys file in with any ideas you have?

I'm a little late getting it going vs. last year because of the site redesign but it does give us more flexibility in asking questions and working with the strict limit of 10 like previous years.

Also, any other suggestions you have might be interesting I can see what I can do..... like any developers (Phresheez, Liftopia) manufactures, alliances, organizations, etc. I can't promise participation but I do want to connect our community with the sources as much as we can!

I'd like to see Magic, Saddleback, MRG, Sugarbush.
Also may be interesting to add Ski NH, or Ski VT which represent the industry for the state. Some larger picture questions that pertain to all mtns could be interesting reading.

Also, I wonder how best to get the resorts to participate. You did a great job compiling/aggregating the questions last yr Nick and I'm sure a lot of emails sent asking them for responses.
However, I wish we had more replies. Specifically I missed Saddleback not answering the questions.

I look forward to reading the questions and responses. We have a good group of passionate folks here who care about the industry and direction of resorts and the industry.

Thanks ... It was a lot last year and I was going to try and pare it down a bit so we have new / different players each year. I really like the idea of Ski Vermont and Ski NH on the list.

Unfortunately at the end of the day I can't force anyone to write me back; when they owed responses I would just email them on a weekly basis following up on it, eventually it became March and then it's too late ;)

I'd like to hear their perspective of why they joined the Mountain Riders Alliance. Long term plans for their lodge. How they did with such a down snow year last year.

Nick - I like the idea about reaching out to the Ski App Developers. I am a user of Phresheez. I am sure the developers would love to get some feedback from a ski oriented community.

Thanks ... will try that then too. I didn't know how the general population felt about that, I'm kind of a techy so I love learning abouts stuff like that. Also we haven't had ski manufacturer's before, but I'd have be sure we had some interest to pull some in. Could even do boot manufacturers / etc.

I'm the Public Affairs Director for Ski Vermont and can provide all kinds of information on Vermont resorts for the 2012-13 season. Happy to help!

I'd like the hear from:

Wachusett - There was some talk of cutting glades there, so I'd like to know what's going on with that.
Sunapee - I don't think we heard from them last year.
Pat's Peak - They cut a new trail for this year and I think plan to cut more, so I would like to know more about that.
Stowe - I don't think we heard from them last year. Are we not worthy? :)

What happened to the app from a few years ago? Seemed like it was going to be useful tool, but it wasnt supported last season. I would think it would be a great way for resorts to easily push-market lift ticket coupons, offers, deals, news etc... to people. Was there just not enough interest?

I'm pretty new to the team, but the back story I just heard about the app was that someone offered to create it for free but it was limited to the Droid platform, and didn't have great flexibility. A few things (including iphone compatibility) didn't come to fruition and the members decided it wasn't worth the future proposed expense.
