I just was reading my PSIA Eastern newsletter. Killington is no longer offering the free lift ticket to PSIA event participants. They are the only mountain to not offer this. What this means is that the only PSIA event at Kmart will be the management seminar (which isn't on snow). Why this is important, first public relations, the teaching staff spreads the good of any mountain they attend and second midweek money. Most events are midweek, espcially the one at larger mountains, and you generally have from100-500 per event where most need lodging and 80-90% buy at least lunch and a few beers on mountain. So you may have $4000-$30000 in just F&B money plus lodgeing midweek in generally slow periods.

This doesn't seem to make much sense. I guess they really are trying to cut back to the bare minimum so they can start from scratch and see what they are dealing with. New year when they start re-introducing some of these things they'll seem like hero's... ;)
