One thing is for sure - Tuckerman Ravine & the Great Gulf would probably have small glaciers, or at the very least some year-round snow. The ski area access roads would also be a LOT more interesting. And driving over the high roads like Appalachian Gap, Kancamangus Highway, etc would be a frickin' adventure.

Never knew that about the 'dacks...maybe thats why they seem more dynamic.
Do you know If it true their bedrock is similar to a Canadian bedrock?
and the Appalachians are related to the mountains in Scandinavia?

thought I remember hearing that in earth science

Not sure about the Appalachians, but yes the Adirondacks are born from a different rock base than the Apps and are more closely related to the Laurentians.

Considering Northeast weather/wind, I think we have it pretty good as it is.... Can you imagine a mid-lodge and sun deck on the top of Mt. Washington?

Not sure about the Appalachians, but yes the Adirondacks are born from a different rock base than the Apps and are more closely related to the Laurentians.
