Any of you Italians have your X-Mass tree up yet?
Thanksgiving is right around the corner!!
When do you put your tree up and take it down?

I'm German so it goes up X-Mass eve and it's on the curb by Advent Recycling Day.
What do you do?

Not Italian but I do enjoy the outdoor displays of Christmas lights during the holidays. I was very tempted to take advantage of the current warm weather and string my Christmas lights on the house today. I would never light them till after Thanksgiving but I really thought about stringing them. I ended up watching that debacle of a Jet game instead. I won't need to set aside any more time for them this fall. Thank god the Devils are decent.

Last year, we put our tree up pretty close to Christmas and it didn't come down for months. To be fair, though, it was just a tabletop tree. In fact, there were two of them (the second being put up the day after Christmas in preparation of our New Year's Party).

Easy enough to forget about something that's up out of the way. I claimed they were more winter trees than Christmas trees since they were decorated with snow and skiing themes anyway. :p

Driving home from SR yesterday I saw someone on the highway with a freshly cut Christmas tree tied to the top of his SUV.

In the Philippines, malls begin playing Christmas carols on September 1 and it's not unusual to see Christmas trees go up in mid-October. We don't take them down until Three Kings' Day (January 6) or, in some cases, after Valentine's.

50% Italian here. The tree will be going up this weekend.

Most of that is because we'll be skiing from Thanksgiving on....

Drove by an old farmhouse last night in Hudson Mass. owned by a contractor. Fully decked out and illuminated last night. There is an ~60 foot pine in the front yard fully loaded and glowing with bulbs.

Lights (what few I do) will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving.

We usually head out a few weeks before Christmas and cut down a tree at a local tree farm.

Main thing I need to get going on is the online shopping...I despise going near shopping centers and malls during this time of the year and if the weather's cooperative I have much better things to do. :daffy:

Italian here. We do the tree on Black Friday with the whole family. It usually turns into a 12 swear process. (at home, the difficulty of any project is rated in "swears") Always good for laughs. My brother in law just sits back and laughs.

Sirius sent out an email this week saying their holiday stations are up and running. I programmed them in but won't listen until Thanksgiving day.

 The 12 Pains of Christmas for you?

I didn't realize this was an "Italian" thing. I used to put the tree up on Black Friday but now that we have kids, it ends up being as late as Christmas Eve just because I fear destruction. Maybe this year we can put up the full-sized tree again... though it would probably only get to stay up for 2-3 days.
