I like to sleep before I ski, wake up in the early morning to the sound of snow plows, roll over and have wild sex with a beautiful woman I've spent the night with, take another nap, then get up and ski with her for a few hours before returning to a relaxing soak in the hot tub, naked of course, with the afformentioned woman. It's a ritual I'd like to establish but, unfortunately, the only part of this ritual that's been regularly played out recently is the sleep before I ski part. Oh well.......

....it's called marriage, dude (if you pick the right girl...or more to the point if you're lucky enough for her to pick you).

P.S.

Righteous picking is important, because in just a few blinks of the eye you'll be wondering who the strangers are who inhabit your bachelor pad. They are called "honey" and whatever names you gave your kids. You'll recognize them on your way out to fix the lawn mower or take out the trash. So pick right.....or be thankful for your sleep/ski lifestyle.

The ski bag has to be absolutely, positively packed to completion the night before. Including boots. No time to waste the next morning. Also helps me not to forget things in my old age.

Started this habit after I learned to hang glide. Lesson learned there: ALWAYS check your equipment before you run off the cliff. A fellow died the week before when he forgot to "clip in." While skiing ain't so dangerous, forgetting your boots or gloves (yes, me, duh) has rather grave and/or monetary consequences.

Maybe there's a reason I'm divorced? :argue: :daffy:

Oh, and snickers and clementines for an afternoon pickmeup

Oh, and as strange as this may sound to anyone who knows me, no beer until the day is done....even that one at lunch was a mistake

Oh me niether. But at the end of the day...
Dunkin Donuts coffee on the way in tends to be a ritual as well.
Someone else mentioned this too, I also put all my ski related stuff in one bag and keep it there. This lessens the chance of leaving stuff at home on accident.....I once forgot my skis!!!!!!:dunce:

I always pack the ski bag the night before if I'm driving.
I always pack lunch the night before- and it always has a gatorade and goldfish with it. When i get to the mountain I always put the lunch in a locker with a lower number than I put the boots in so that i remember which locker has the food and don't have to waste money.
I always drink a hot chocolate for a mid-morning break and warm up.
At whiteface I always finish my first run on drapers drop.

Oh and I always have a great time. I never complain- about anything when I'm skiing.

I pack myself and my wife the night before and stage everything near the door. Then, in the morning, I bring my wife's gear back to the bedroom, unpack it all, repack it with whatever else she's decided she needs, then carry it back to the door, at which point I bring my gear back to unpack and repack with the extra stuff that didn't fit in her bag. Then it all goes out to the car. About two blocks from the house I realize that I didn't put my gloves/hat/goggles back in my bag, and turn around. 2 hours after our (my) planned departure time, we're on the road, ready to go.

Not so much a ritual as bad planning...

I don't see that as bad planning, just reality...and the situation is compounded if you have kids... :x

With your name, Ms. Diva, and....

I always make sure I have my skis on before I head down the slope. Call me crazy.

...your insistance on things like having skis on....I think I'll call you high maintenance....

Lucky for you I'm already spoken for. Now if you'll excuse me I'll get back to doing dishes and laundry.

no rituals really. I used to click poles before i'd enter a line but nobody does that anymore so i stopped.
