Anyone planning on skiing during the eclipse?

I took that week off. If the weather is good (clear) on that Monday, I am planning on skiing at Stowe that day and experiencing the eclipse in the afternoon. Just an FYI, the majority of hotel rooms in that general area are already booked for that Sunday/Monday

If the stars align (literally?) I could be at Saddleback. Need favorable weather but moreso need work and family life (lttle kids) to cooperate.

I was so far ahead of the curve on this that Jay Peak had no clue what I was talking about a few years ago trying to book rooms that day so far in advance. But then I ended up moving. Hopefully the weather pans out for everyone.

We have a place booked in Troy and will be at Jay. Doing two Jay days and a PQ place another day. Will be first time skiing PQ for me and first time leaving the country for our kids. Eclipse day we will be at Jay. I believe they're shutting the lifts at 1:30 as the path of totality hits around 3PM.

Probably be pretty dark everywhere in Northern VT, so I imagine most places will shut lifts completely.

Jay has Pink Talking Fish booked to play Dark Side of the Moon on the day of.

Praying for a clear day. Which there's probably a less than 10% chance of in VT in April haha. Last year would have been perfect. It was 80 and sunny the same weekend when we were there

My wife booked something north of Cannon for this. Not sure where we're skiing.

Total coincidence but I'm on vacation that week so I'll probably be at The Cat that day (Attitash may/will probably be done by then)
Definitely something that one doesn't see that often. Last one I remember in the NE was 52 years ago in July 1972

We have also booked saddleback. Slope side condos did not seem to be up priced at all. We are hoping that even if it’s not clear they will still have a couple of runs open so we can do a day and a half skiing somewhere we haven't been before, even if we don't see the eclipse. Worse case, its cloudy and resort is 100% closed but kids still are happy because we let them have a day off school. I looked at Stowe as well but rooms at Spruce lodge were $1500 a night.

Slope side condos seem to still be available through Rangely Rentals (Morton and Furbish) . 1, 2 and 3 bed option. So you could take your kids!

I got lucky, a niece arranged a huge Airbnb on a horse farm last year, sounds like a few people backed out so we’re going in on it. Looks less than 30 miles from sugarbush.

Yea, I want to ski during the eclipse because the bears are going to flip out and go on a killing rampage. I've seen eclipses. One pretty blacked out. For me seeing planets from the top of Cannon at 1:00 PM was cool. For us old folk, remember Commet Hally - Bob It was visible in the South for like 3 weeks.

That high up would be neat. Hopefully, the weather is okay. You get up that high and you can see all kinds of...

I booked a 2-day trip to Sugarloaf with a friend and my younger kid. On-mountain lodging was stupid expensive (more so than usual) and didn't allow checking in or out on Saturday, and every other place in the area that had online booking was sold out that weekend. But I called a place in Stratton that didn't have online booking and they had plenty of space. Ideally it'll be a bluebird day and we can watch from the summit, for a closer view. :) (actually, we might be able to see the shadow approaching.) But if it's cloudy at SL and clear elsewhere within driving range, we're going to eat our tickets and the kid's lesson and go eclipse chasing; need to bring our passports in case we have to chase it into Canada.
SL has "Sugarloaf Skiclipse" in their events calendar but no details on their plans for the thing.
