Well if you want to spend $$ try the 1785 Inn, really expensive but REALLY good.
Also the Stonehearst Manor is real good, not quite as pricey . Those are both north of town.
For less $ try Marios for italian, and we also like Red Parka, Horsefeathers.
BUT for the BEST place to eat........drive a 1/2 hour south down Route 16 and eat at the Whittier House (it will be on the right just before the closed ski area). That place is great . Tons of good beers and the food is awsome. Not too pricey and definately worth the drive.
If you have kids go to Glenn Junction for breakfast, heck go there even if yoyu don't have kids. That's right at the Route 16/Route 302 intersection.
