I'm not into inciting flames, but anonymous ski industry professional over at TGR says his company is revoking any pro forms to any tgr members, but will be extending pro forms to AZ members. Who is this guy? Is he blowing smoke? Or bring on the pro forms for us family oriented folks.

I'm bringing this up because people like that don't deserve:flag: a space in either forum with such incendiary words.

Heres to peace with other forums, don't get sucked into a flame war.

Please translate this. I have no idea what your posting means.

tirolerpeter - I'm with you - I have no idea what this means. What's a pro form? If it's some sort of giveaway or discount, I'm all for it.......

Yeah, saw that too.

Too bad. There's things I like about AZ and there's things I like about TGR. But we all should know what to expect from either forum.

I really hope you are kidding.

Since you are a moderator on a ski forum you should KNOW what a "pro form" is, if you really do not, I must question why you are a moderator.

Unless you work in the ski industry there is no reason to know what a "pro form" is. The mods at AZ are volunteers and this forum as well as many others could not operate at this level without these volunteers putting in their free time to help make AZ works as well as it does.

What's a matter, Lloyd? Did the snow already melt in Aspen?

a "pro form" is an incentive provided by most ski/clothing companies to get their equipment on such pros. Ski instructors, non sponsered skiers, etc.......

you get a form, purchase new equiptment at a discounted rate.

????? part 2

I took a look at the TGR link and read through the thread referred to in the original post here. "Puerile" is the kindest comment I can make regarding most of the posts. I do agree, that we should have "free speech" even if it is offensive. I prefer the style of discourse we generally engage in here. Ergo, I choose not to patronize that forum. One of the realities that many people don't like to face is that when we exercise (extreme) free speech we must also be prepared to face the consequences. BTW, when someone asks a straight-forward question, a simple answer is in order. Cryptic, "insider lingo" may need explanation. Putting people down for not being "hip, tuned in, with it" etc., is merely a weak attempt to demonstrate how much of an "insider" an individual is.

It's a new slang term for a professional courtesy discount on pretty much anything. In the old days if you were a ski industry employee(I am including professional/elite amataur skiers/riders here) you would get a letter from your company/resort and present it to get discounts, even free skiing. In this particular situation sounds sounds like tgr members were given these discounts but now are taken away.

Like everything else these days It's gotten alot more complicated and widespread. Look at Nascar and skiing, the athletes have become human billboards. Every visible area on the bodies are for sale to the highest bidders.

With the subject "AZ Rules" I thought this thread was about me. I guess some of Marc's characteristics are rubbing off on me :)

Ha haaaa- sucks to be you if that's true.

At any rate, what the hell is all this about this being a family oriented board? Because of no profanity allowed? Hardly makes it family oriented. I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of AZ users don't have children.

If this ever became an advertised "family oriented" board, I'd leave and never come back.

.... Andy, cten, grassi, etc.- I know what all of you sonsabitches are about to say, so save your breath.
