I thought that was the point that his boss wanted to fire him but couldn't, and then his coworkers then treated him like dirt to get him to quit. They baracaded his office door, installed asbestos, and sandblasted.

Was that not also the "Kramerica" and the "Helloooooooo" episode?

You are right (btw, Kramerica and Hellooo is one of my favorite episodes). The episode I was referring to was early in George's career at Play Now. Here is a link to the script.

the AZ community and TGR community responses to this lame brained troll's attempt to start a forum flame war definitely shows the differences in style of how the different forum users assess these type of crap posts. subtle mocking and humor vs. all out flaming. not saying one response is better than the other, though i think we all have our preferences. this is a rare case in which i think both are equally amusing and justified!!! :D i do appreciate subtlety and irreverency compared to overt flaming though ;)

The thing that frustrates me about these sort of posts (and the one over on TGR) that get _WAY_ out of hand is the amount of time needed to sift through all the BS to get to interesting on topic related stuff. But thats the Internet.

BTW - I'm as guilty as the next dude when it comes to adding to the BS that we have to sift through... lol...

Well - thanks for straightening me out with the concept of a "pro form". If any reps out there feel the need to throw a 35-40% discount my way, go right ahead.

And thanks also for understanding that I'm just a volunteer here, not an industry insider. We AZ mods do our best........

At any rate, what the hell is all this about this being a family oriented board? Because of no profanity allowed? Hardly makes it family oriented. I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of AZ users don't have children.

My guess is that because were all here discussing like gentlemen and not spewing derogatory comments at each other (as I saw in that link to TGR), were considered family oriented. Though as I read a TGR post AZ was referred to as "NE Ice Skaters", I just think they're jealous because were better skiers and snowboarders.

I say we start snowball fight with TGR, and we're sure to win becasue our snow packs better and comes with ice pellets :uzi: watch your backs TGR (JK)

PS: No Children

I've more or less embraced the ice references, a la the Meatheads. It's almost like a badge of honor. Kinda.

Oh my  .

And I have to disagree with this BS that the phrase "pro form" is "cryptic" insider lingo. In fact, when I read CM's post I was struck by exactly the same thought as was Lloyd Braun. That definitely was a little weird. I've never been "in the industry" but I can't even remember a time that I didn't know what a pro form was. Not tryin' to embarrass anybody because there's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's not a big deal but I'd have thought the mods on a ski forum would know about something like that because you just learn about things like that by osmosis; you're involved in outdoor sports (it's not just for skiing) and you just pick it up involuntarily. No offense but I'm just sayin' it's not "cryptic lingo" reserved for a special few. That's just wrong.

You guys do understand that all that spewing at eachother is just a joke, right? Also, about the troll who made that thread. He deserves it, all he does is bump random threads, and c*** up other threads with stupid pictures.

I agree that we should start a snowball fight. Frozen slush is awesome for snowballs, also just for good measure we could through in some tar chunks, those always work well.

Anyway, back to the original topic. Which was how we are going to raise enough money to buy Chilemass a Rascal, correct?

Huh? Who said anything about being "cooler" or "faster"? What am I missing? Far more interesting to me is: Who is this guy that started all of this? I mean his post on TGR is obviously BS - nobody's giving pro deals to people on forums (is that what he was sayin' or did he mean the owners of the sites? Greg - you gettin a pro form from some company this year from that guy? Which one? If you're not gonna use it - don't let it go to waste!;-) )

Well no body cares anymore who has the bigger d*ck, because mine clearly dwarfs them all.

ohh, a thread linked from TGR!

may I come out of hiatus to sound off here?

1. TGR rules
2. alpinezone is ok
3. andyzee sucks
4. east coast ice skaters are better at skiing ice than west coast powder skiers.
5. i'd still rather be a west coast powder skier.
6. "anonymous ski industry professional" is a troll. real annoying one, too.
7. asip would have been banned from alpinezone in 10 seconds flat.

I was just getting that vibe. I've seen enough of these threads on various boards and often times they degenarate into comparisons between boards, skiers types, moderation levels, east vs west, cats vs dogs, boxers vs briefs, sox yanks, etc etc.

Here's a newsflash. I've never heard "pro form" before this thread, and I have made many many contacts in the Industry. I've referred to complimentary items; gear, lift tickets/passes, lodging simply as "comps".

Some people like TGR. Others prefer AZ. You can't please everybody.

No! YOU!!! (Sorry buddy but that's not a "newsflash" at all). Comps aren't pro deals.

And I don't need to flog this particular dead horse any longer. My ONLY point was that "pro form" is not "cryptic insider lingo". And there are many of you who know that I speak the truth. Again, I'm not tryin' to embarrass anyone - it's nothing to be embarrassed about. But the fact that the owner of a ski site and, at last count, one of his mods doesn't know what a pro form is is...well...odd. Let's leave it at that.

Nobody said I wasn't a little odd...
