Was looking on goolge earth and google maps and was surprised to see another trail system on another flank of magic mountain even saw that there are two interconnecting trails.

Anyone know what that is...closed...private...just interested...thanks.

I never knew about that...interesting stuff.

It gets better....Okemo purchased the golf course resort, Tater Hill, in 2004, which is at the bottom of Timber Ridge. Gotta assume that the Meullers, before they sold out to CNL, was thinking about reopening the place and maybe even buying Magic. This was also the time there was serious talks about putting wind turbines on Glebe Mt.

somewhere, probably buried at my parents house, i have a bunch of pics from timberside. next time i'm up there, i really gotta look for them and scan them. It was a cool little area. not very steep but lots of rolls and natural features, from what i remember.

I've got the same memories of Timberside. A bunch of rollers that just lent themselves to catching some air. Even made the traverse in and out worth it IMHO :)

yes, 2knees got it- not too steep, but plenty of natural terrain rollers! Just enough to keep you on your toes (or on your butt if you're not paying attention!) Two years ago was my first time snowboarding over there and I launched off one of them unknowingly. I think the thing dropped some 10 feet.. kinda felt like skiing over a snowmaking whale that just drops off. It was a blast though!

When the snows good over there, its great!

I saw on the Nelsap site that someone recently bought Timber ridge, is this place private now and are "poacher" shot on site?

With all of them rollers you guys are describing it reminds me of Okemo style terrain.
Haven't been there in awhile, hope they haven't regraded the slopes there.
But I miss screaming down some of their groomers and having the bottom drop out as you hit the rollers.
even though Okemo's not the steepest most extreme mountain on our coast I always manage to have a lot of fun there.

T-Ridge after a dump sounds like you can have similar amounts of fun without the prospect of launching off one of those rollers and crashing into a Volvo driving soccer mom.:daffy::spread:

Skiied Timber Ridge (or Timberside as Magic called it) back in the '80's. Cool little place. Lots of rollers as you guys mentioned. The connecting trail was a haul going over there from Magic, really flat. Coming back wasn't as bad. It is privately owned now. I saw some pictures last year of a group of snowboarders on some website. We drove by there several years ago on the way home from Bromley and what was the original base lodge had been fixed up. Looked good. It's a shame it didn't blossom when Magic had it. The owners at the time didn't sink any $ into it. Then again they didn't pour any cash into Magic itself either.
