Snowmaking will begin this Tuesday the 13th. Expect to see base building in and around the Northridge area. The work road is still needed, so I don't think they will be making snow around the peak lodge. Lower elevation snowmaking will start later on. :snow::beer:

Why bother if they aren't going to bring snow down from K1 or down to the base? Sunday River will win again...

If they can get Rime and Reason ready ahead of time, they can open with more terrain and expand more quickly. The 7-day mid-mountain is looking really good, high for the week is 37 on Friday.

But I'll wait until Spinmaster actually posts some pictures. BigK has slightly dubious credibility.

Hmm. It does seem unlikely that they'd place all the guns now if they aren't planning on using them in the next week or two....

Wow, Berkshire East is going to start making snow! That's awesome.

I really don't see the difference between placing guns for snow making this week versus three weeks from now or even four. Makes sense to have everything ready to go so that they can flip the switch on when they want to.

That said, it does seem like Killington is trying to take away Sunday River's glory from the past few seasons and perhaps recapture a little of their own.

As eluded to by other posters on this forum, blowing under the Glade Triple Chair (or whatever they call it these days, shows you how long ago I have done early season at K) only sets them up for when they are ready and able to blow out bunny buster and the rest of the run out trails where they have historically had difficulty laying down enough snow early season and creating an acceptable product for all by expert skiers.

I am the almighty BigK! You my friend are:dunce: :daffy:

Then did you steal Skiingsnows picture off of K Zone, or did he swipe it from you?? That is why I asked!

BTW, your avatar is outdated, the logo has changed...

I borrowed it from skiingsnow's Kzone post. Same place (kzone) as you quoted the almighty BigK as Tom H!

I honestly hope K can start blowing snow soon, but I'll believe it when I see it...

Placing guns on a trail != necessarily making snow anytime soon in my book.

I thought the same thing. Funny that we associate 'beast' with a much smaller area... how the mighty have fallen...

Glad I wasn't the only one.

Yep T2B is still the plan. It's gonna be tough to beat a Sunday River downloading option, but hell, early northeast snow making is still gonna increase the jones, and it's safe bet that it's gonna happen this week.

Is it just me or does the Big K snow leopard thingy look like it should advertising a breakfast cereal rather than trying to be a 'beast'?
