Bell Gage Helmet
The manufacturer's perpetual weight race is well documented. From frames to every imaginable component, engineers and designers strive to chip away grams without disturbing the delicate balance with structural integrity. Luckily, there are industry standards like the CPSC, which the Bell Gage Helmet easily passes, to keep products honest.
There's a multitude of helmet safety guidelines, but when it comes to bicycle use, the Consumer Product Safety Commission's high, cycling-specific standards has become the benchmark. And it's truly remarkable that today's helmets can pass those regulations, while still offering the ventilation, fit, and low weight that they do. Bell's secret to achieving this is its Fusion In-Mold Microshell.
The Microshell is bonded to an EPS foam liner during manufacturing in order to create a stronger overall structure. Internal reinforcements allow Bell's designers to push the envelope of ventilation with numerous large intake and exhaust ports. Additionally, it also allows solid anchoring points for the two-way adjustable TAG fit system.
The TAG Fit System means that riders can adjust the helmet around the occipital lobe (that bump at the back of your head) both in width and height for a conforming fit. Cam-lock levers make for quick strap adjustment, so that you can dial in the Gage when riding without hassle and forget that you have it on. Another key feature of the Gage is Bell's X-Static padding. It combines a quick-dry material with an anti-microbial coating in order to eliminate odor.
The Bell Gage Helmet is available in the sizes Small, Medium, and Large and in the colors Black/red/white stripes, Matte BMC Limited Edition Team, Matte Black Swerve, Matte Black/orange/blue swerve, Matte Titanium Stripes, and White Stripes.
