MLK day weekend crowds hit today. After 10:30 I had a 15 minute wait on Superchief. Note to self: stay off Superchief. Lines at lift 7 & Tomahawk were bearable, 2-5 minutes. Crowded Overlook Lodge at lunch.

Demo day today (and tomorrow) - skied new Elans, Atomics, Dynastars. Liked the Elans best.

Conditions were hard but not bad. Almost 100% open. Good grooming and good bumps on Yahoo. Top of Algonquin marked "ungroomed/ thin cover" was best snow on the mountain. Belleayre Run and upper double diamonds all were fun.

Lower Yahoo closed almost all day by the Coalition Cup Nastar race. My kid missed podium by less than a third of a second. But that's ski racing.

As usual, I really don't know what craziness went on in Discovery Lodge and the easier runs. Was probably rental equipment and snowboarder hell.

Weekend photos here.

You know the ones - the gaggles of 13 year olds that sit in groups clogging up the trails ... usually the same ones that try something too difficult two hours later and sideslip the entire hill untill they hit a mogul and sit down or flip....

All the other ones are cool.

I was up here hitting the greens, and it was packed. Rental line stretched out the door. But I have to say they handled it pretty well.
