It's still sketchy, and rather screwy if you ask me. It does include Highmount pretty much redeveloped as it was, but it also includes 2 very long lifts that span way too much flats on the lower mountain - like their present HSQ only worse.

I like Belleayre, but there's no denying that those long green runouts are a drawback. I think that's unfixable. The slope of the mountain is what it is. They can't create steepness that doesn't exist. One can only hope that Highmount has a more normal trail system (i.e., blacks and blues that are really black or blue the whole way down, or at least most of the way).

Actually I like to see for myself, hippie life seems pretty cool way of living.

The people I ride with midweek from Woodstock and the valley are cool... Crusty and a bit militant... But fun... :)
When I say hippie... i don't mean like a commune hippie.. :) just freaks from Woodstock... haha..

Good people..

"NY state's plans for 1,200 acres near Belleayre Mountain Ski Center to be outlined at public hearing tonight

....263 acres will be classified as “intensive use” and added to the ski center...'To allow for consideration of groomed cross-country ski trails, as well as a possible alpine (downhill) ski trail connection with the hamlet of Pine Hill'"....

That's cool..

If the Village of Hunter was on the other side of the creek - I'd love to see this at Hunter Mtn...

That's cool.

Very cool- that's a lot of vertical.
But like everything else there, I'll "believe it when I see it."

+1
There used to be a schematic in the lodge with a bunch of proposed trails- it looked awesome. Any idea whether it'll happen?
