The lions may not be lying down with the lambs just yet, but it appears private ski resorts in the Catskills may be declaring a cease-fire after several years of complaints that Belleayre Ski Resort was undercutting their ticket prices....

...Anyway, today we got word that a press conference is being held in Kingston tomorrow afternoon announcing “a historic agreement between the five Catskill Mountain Ski Areas to promote spring skiing.”

Forget Vermont, ski resorts say; try the Catskills:

If you've been traveling to Vermont all winter to ski, you're precisely the type of customer a group of Catskill ski resorts want to pluck up in March.

As part of a spring promotion, the Bellayre, Holiday, Hunter, Plattekill and Windham Mountains ski resorts are offering a 25-percent discount to anyone who presents a lift ticket from anywhere outside of New York.

The discount is good for the month of March. Marketing representatives from the businesses say this was an ideal time for them to promote the discount because the Catkill Mountains typically see the most amount of snow in March.

So Holiday is the 5th. I couldn't figure that one out for a while. I thought Bobcat or Cortina was open again. (just kidding)

Talked to a guy today who works there -- he said they'll go as long there's still snow and people keep coming -- maybe those signs on the way to K will help!
