Date(s) Skied: 2-24

Resort or Ski Area: Berkshire East

Conditions: Some groomage, loose powder which was fun to challenge myself to staying on top of, packed powder, junk/crud

Trip Report: I was little heasitant as it was my first time up, but I a sure it will not be my last. The only problem I have with the place are that lifts are a little on the slow side but crowds are minimal which is very nice. I hopped on the lift via single line with some locals and was told it was the best conditions of the year. A problem I had was that trails were being opened and closed all day

for MA, 4 out of 5 stars:smash:

Cool! Glad you enjoyed it. I think the triple is reasonably quick for a fixed grip. The Quad over on the West side seems a bit slow, but that's mostly for beginners/lower intermediates. People seem to get too used to detach chairs making FGs seem slow in comparison. The irony is most people flock to detach chairs causing the longest lines on the mountain. I'd rather wait while riding than in line. Lines are usually nill at Beast too.

while riding single at jay, i overheard some kid mouthing off about the jet being such a slow lift  jay runs the jet and bonni at a very respectable speed for fixed grips and the jet is one of the best and quickest chairlifts for maximum "bang per buck" ratio of vertical. i think it is very true that people get used to high speed chairs and fixed grips only "seem" slow by comparison and relative to what someone normally skis. personally, i think a chair like the jet flies, but that is relative to what i normally ski :D
