A minute from the Alta exit off the I-15!
Work something at nights like restaurant or grooming. Instructing worked for me cause I could work all day and them make a few turns at night. Since few "desirable" resorts have night skiing that'd be hard to do.

My ski bum days were at an "off-mountain" job, but one that could easily be found on-mountain too - restaurant/bar. The trick is to find one that is more geared towards dinner/bar so the day shifts are minimal. I ski-bummed in Sun Valley and lied my way into a cook's job (told them that the bar I worked at back east was also a restaurant, it wasn't, but they didn't check). Didn't pay great but I didn't have to start until 4-5PM and had to only work 1 day-shift per week. 6 days a week wide open to ski & season's pass - not bad. Didn't pay very well but between skiing all day & then cooking until 10-11PM, I was exhausted at the end of every day. All I did was ski, cook, & sleep. And I've never been happier. . .
