You assume that I do not have knowledge. I was asking the question for planning purposes. Do I need to pack, ship or rent? Which gear is needed and where do get it out there?

You state that "know before you go". That is why I asked for the info. Less knowledgable people would just go up.

Yes, I do assume you do not have the knowledge. If you did, you would not be asking what you need. You would already know the answer and most likely own said gear. If you own it, why wouldn't you bring it????

ANYONE who is wearing a beacon, should IMHO have a shovel and probe.

Just wearing a beacon is ridiculous, it's like "Hey everyone, if I get caught in a slide please come save me!!! But if you're caught in one, I'll be able to locate you, but not do shit about it."

By know before you go, I meant know how to use said equipment, take an avy 1 course, know what to do if one does happen, etc.

It just seems to me like you're not taking the risk seriously enough and by even asking these questions it would seem you are ill prepared.

This may not be true at all, and if that's the case take what you need and leave the rest.

I gotta do some work for a bit, but I'll be back and would be more than glad to point you in the right directions if you want to rent gear out there.

Wow!!!!!!!! Can't a person ask a simple question without being called an unknowledgable idiot? I know what is needed as the basics. I am planning my trip. Do I rent the stuff or ship it? Extra bags are getting expensive to bring. Shovels are not small. BTW - No probe is needed by the Moonlight website. My shovel has one in the handle.

Then you should have asked that specific question. Should I ship my current gear or rent out there.

Ship it! As DMC said, you'll be more comfortable using your own equipment, and it will be cheaper to just ship everything.

At no point did I call you an idiot, I simply stated that I assumed you had no knowledge based on the question posed. I also stated that my assumption may be incorrect.

I still do not understand why, if you are carrying a beacon you would not also carry a shovel and probe?

Regardless, I was not trying to personally attack you, nor was everything I said directed only at you, avalanche safety is an incredibly important topic and needs to be addressed more. I felt that the question you asked brought about a good way to do just that.

My training instructor in the Air Force drilled into heads, "THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS,THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION! PEOPLE WHO DON'T ASK QUESTIONS ARE DUMB!".

Apology accepted and my apologies back. I thought my question was simple enough and did not need to elaborate.
