Driving up to Jackson, NH from Manchester, NH was horrible. We passed at least 5 cars that had gone off of 93, and 2 of them were on their roofs. So I didn't get to the mountain until 9am. Still only about 30 cars in the parking lot.

Rode up the black chair, and took a run down a few groomed trails to warm up my legs. It was smooth as warm butter. No chatter or scraping of the skis. Went over the to the Red chair and rode it to the summit. Took a right off the chair and went down Lostbo. That trail epitomizes the kind of mountain that Black is. Short, but very intense and unique (in my opinion). I ended up skiing every black and double black on the mountain twice. Highlights include Lostbo as I said, White Knuckle was a lot of fun, and Upper Galloping Goose, which can best be described as a mountain goat path underneath the lift.

As I mentioned, the groomed trails were heaven, and the natural trails and glades were a lot of fun as well. They could use another dumping of snow, which they're going to get. There were lots of times, especially in the woods, where my skis bottomed out on branches and rocks.

All in all a great day. Happy with my decision to try Black. It's a smaller mountain, but it skis bigger than it is. It's fun and loaded with lots of character.
