So you’re asking a mountain to donate their passes when they were barely staying afloat as it is? Right now, the mountain needs to focus on setting up a plan to keep the mountain viable. Perhaps if/when they accomplish that down the line, they will reconsider.

Vail is part of the chamber pass. They actually paid their employees to process passes for the chamber this year.
Black can do whatever they want. But they are going to have a hard time getting the local community to buy into the co-op if you don’t support the local community.

Maybe they should do some sorta midweek ticket deal for all to get people on the hill? Like a twofer Tuesday. Noone seems to do those anymore.

Yeah, because investing a ton of money into reopening the place at a loss or break-even is just not enough love for the community. GMAFB.

Dude they were going to be fucking closed. CLOSED! So they wouldn’t have been on the fucking pass any way. Get over it!

Bet dollar to donuts Mainer doesn't entertain discounts for the community for his business.

This is the equivalent of giving away 90 grand in lost revenue at 300 passes with five days each. Even if people only cash in 1 day of those each that is still a terrible deal for Black in terms of the marketing value they get in return.

Attitash, wildcat, cranmore, bretton, pleasant, king pine. They are paid for. Black for $80? Where would you ski?

$59 online for tickets right now…

No revenue = no black mountain…

IIRC wasn’t Attitash and Wildcat not on the CoC pass when they were first bought by vail?

I like variety so I'd ski all of them (with the exception of king pine and maybe cranmore). I'm a huge fan of Black, always have been. I don't live in the valley but ski black at least a couple of times every year when there's natural snow, even the past couple of years when it's been really thin at black. Love the vibe. I'd pick wildcat and black over any of the mountains on that side of the whites as I don't need amenities, etc. That said, I would definitely primarily ski the mountains on the pass that I had already purchased, as I do now, but would still throw some love their way (Black) especially if I was a local, as they are a gem in the valley. If you can't swing a day pass, oh well, don't go. But if you can, it's worth it IMHO, especially if their plans pan out this season with snowmaking up top and mother nature cooperates.

They posted just yesterday or the day before that they are trying to open for the 20th. I know they are load testing summit this week. It got an all new drive with regen braking.

Snowmaking restarts tomorrow and into Sunday AM. The primary summit and west side route is done and they've been working on an east side route. The diesel rental compressor arrived so there is quite a bit more air to use. I suspect once the East route is done they will go back to the summit to Upper Black Beauty which hasn't seen snowmaking in a long time. We spent a ton of time reconnecting it and fixing the pipes this fall.

I should be up there again at some point working this weekend either Sat and Sunday days or Sat night shift I will grab some pics.

They have some fun and interesting terrain for a small place. Glad to see someone is showing it some love. I'm spending a lot of time in NH this year so I'll try to stop in again. Last year the red chair was out of service which was a bummer.

Got to make snow on the J-Bar and Platter today. I was told it has been a very very long time on the J-Bar.

Can't speak to long term snow plan but we were making snow on the J bar, platter lift line, spot guns on open terrain plus base area and I started up equipment on Minnow and East Bowl.

I posted a sampling of the equipment we were running for the snowmaking nerds, there was more though.
