I have Blizzard of Aaaahs ripped and sitting on a USB hard drive. I meant to give it to Dork last winter and kept forgetting to bring the USB drive up to KMart.

Agreed that this was a good weekend for a ski movie. My wife and I watched one of the Warren Miller films ,"Ride", on the watch instantly Netflix...really got us excited for the season to get rolling here in VT.

Ride was a pretty run of the mill film...the highlight for us was the two kids in Wisconsin building thier backyard jump complete with a wooden tower and ramp for the inrun and a homebrew snowmaking system to provide the snow. The lowlight was the inclusion of a segment on snowmobiling in a ski flick.

Is Blizzard available as a watch instantly selection?

Just watched Journey. Netflix -> laptop -> HDMI -> 46" LCD TV is teh sweetness. Sorta wasted on Journey, but should be cool for more recent films.

But no, Blizzard is not intant. But now #1 in my queue.

I know one of the guys that Terry skis with at Shawnee Peak was influential in getting Greg Started back in the day. Think his name was Bruce and I don't know if I've ever seen someone in I'm assuming his 50's rip like this guy does.

Maybe Terry will comment about the relationship.

My aunt used to ski wth that crew all the time "back in the day" Might be Bruce Cole...Bridgton area local.

I used to fit Willie E Coyote's (aka Jeff Coffin) ski boots...he was the pilot in Maltese Flamingo...really nice guy...small feet, bony ankles that required some serious punching.

I love Stump films. I bought SnoWhat on VHS cause it's such a ridiculously awesome film. I've got some of those on my wish list... Blizzard of Aahhs, Fistfull of Moguls, License to Thrill... etc. Lol, just in case anyone's shopping for my Christmas presents.

I have very fond memories of the world premiere's of Stmpy's films when he was still based out of Portland. Prior to Bilzzard there was quite a bit of local talent in the flicks and you can still find Jeff Coffin ripping aroud the mountains of Maine.

As to answer a previous question; you cannot find a trailer of Legend of Ahhhs at this time. It was originally set to come out this fall, but Stump has entered it into the Sundance Film Festival this year.

While Blizzard changed ski films in many ways, much of what Stump did from there on out was low key, but still pretty ground-breaking. In P-Tex he introduced La Grave to the world. Groove was action-packed and inspired many to start competing in bordercross. Siberia is more of a documentary thana ski movie, but the undertone of avalanche danger along with Craig Kelly being one of the stars, is nothing short of haunting. Fistful has great bumps scenes including Plake and a extrememly white-teethed Wayne Wong ripping Gunbarrel all day. It also featured some new school antics with the like of Mike Douglas at Whistler. Who knew?

Just watched it again . . .

I wonder if I could get a guide to take me into the Poubelle Couloir when I go on my European ski vacation (not that that's going to happen anytime soon, but that Couloir looks sick!)

And your guide can say:
"Hey Mattchuck2, you want to ski it?"

You'll reply, "Yeah, I'll ski it, for sure!"

You'll grunt throug a few jumps turns before uttering, "Woo - Steep!"

EPIC!

I picked up Snow Gods today. Only other meathead film I had seen was Born from Ice. I thought Snow Gods was pretty poor in comparison.
