Hey All,
I'm back from a morning session at Blue mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 740AM and the temperature was in the mid 20s under cloudy skys. I realized that today is just considered a normal weekday so the lifts didn't open until 830AM. I spent that time chilling in the lodge for a little bit and sitting outside by the ticket checkers. The line of people waiting for lift tickets was uber long because they wait until opening time to start selling lift tickets. Alot of unhappy people standing in a ticket line for 30+ minutes. When it was scan-in time the only other PASR around was M-Bike Mike..there were easily 100+ people waiting in line to get scanned in at 830AM..something I haven't seen before.
We first skied Razors which had a little bit of new manmade snow..pretty smooth but a few snowsnakes lurking. Lazy Mile had really nice soft cord and Paradise was nice as well and fortunately no redcoats. Challenge had some fresh manmade poe on the top and the bottom half was frozen cord. Main Street had mini death cookies and the bumps were scratchy. I ended up skiiing 9 runs with M-Bike Mike and then he left. Then I immediately joined -Dan, Justo, and their friend Ty. By this point the crowds were getting intense. The line for the quad and 6-pack were the longest I've seen. people were lined up for the 6-pack all the way to where the snow begins by the ticket check. Luckily there weren't to many people in the VIP line except for some rentards and a few passholders. The VIP line allowed us to avoid what would be a 15-20+ minute wait and get on the 6-pack within 3-4 minutes which was sa weet..but what wasn't sweet was all the people on the trails.
Lazy Mile was crazy mile and Burma was a complete shitshow..even the vista, burma and main street chairs had very long lines. Today was one of if not the busiest day I've ever seen at Blue. The entire lower lot was full. I left at 11:35AM after 15 runs and there was a line of cars..mainly from Jersey still streaming in. I'll be up at Blue tomorrow morning first thing..I expect another crowded day due to the cold weather and snow in the air..early bird gets the worm..I can't imagine how much of a mess it is up there this afternoon..but good for Blue mountain..they're making mad loot today. Switchback is probably open by now and Dreamweaver has some huge whales..
