Unexpected first day out ,10:00 arrived to ominous dark sky . Sun later dimly through high cirrus , temps quickly rose above freezing .I don't think there efforts will hold up well with 70 in the forecast .
First day on new AT equipment but didn't think skinning would be a good idea , was surprised to see two guys uphilling the only trail to the bottom , they were off the edge safely . Conditions were challenging with soft mashed potato clumps limiting speed . Very impressed with the Nordica Steadfasts they were awesome in the clumps . Switched to my old Rossi B2's after noon as some bumps developed thinking Dynafits wouldn't like Bumps . Nordicas felt more comfortable .
Lots of people but didn't see any bad behavior. Only problem was getting elbowed in the ribs by a novice while loading , and a boarder girl apologizing to me as she fell off the chair just after loading .
Was fun despite heavy traffic , should be bumped up tonight.
