Hey All,
I'm back from a fun morning session at Blue. I arrived at 8:15AM and Phillycore was already booted up. I booted up and then went in the lodge to redeem my vouvher on my jacket for a lift ticket. I feel for the non passholders at Blue since they don't open the ticket windows until the mountain opens. There were like 20 people in front of me and only 2 ticket windows open and people were bitching. Blue should open their ticket windows 30 minutes earlier than the slopes open like most ski areas. On to the skiing..
Wow conditions were way better than I expected. They did a really good job grooming. JBS was laying down uber deep arcs on Paradise on his carving board and we rode the lift with him once. The snow was fast but with enough grip for laying down nice arcs. I thought the best carving snow was on Paradise and Main Street. Burma road was fun as well and crowds were very light today. On the way to Burma road..Phillycore went ass over tea kettle on one of the rollers in the park. We took the Main Street chair once to access Raceway and Chute..Chute was a little chunky but not to bad. Challenge was slick, smooth, and fast as all fizzle. Lots of little kids stopped halfway down falls had me checking my speed though so no steezy air off the Falls. There were no liftlines at all and I managed 16 runs in 2.5 hours. Near the end I saw Matt Reynard skiing and I ended up quitting around 11:00AM.
It was a sweet session and I was glad that they opened at 8:30AM today because I needed that extra hour of sleep after some fun at the A-town bars last night pounding shots with the Allen High School class of 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2000...Holla at Blue..BTW Blue isn't the same without Atomic Jeff. On the way home I finished up my Christmas shopping at Pier One and hit up Taco Bell as well.. Blue is closed tomorrow so I'll be skiing again after work on Wednesday.
