Hey All,
I'm back from a short morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower parking lot at 735AM and it was 43 degrees under mostly cloudy skys. Atomic Jeff was already there and Toast showed up a few minutes later. The scanners weren't working but we made the first civilian 6-pack. Atomic Jeff started on Razors and me and Toast started on Dreamweaver which was frozen puddles and a little frozen cord..not very good..especially considering how nice conditions were Friday and Saturday. Next up was a run down Switchback for a few turns in the woods..the snow was not too bad..sort of solid though..Toast hit up the park. Then we did Main Street which was nice at the top and thick applesauce in the middle and bottom.
Lazy Mile had the nicest conditions..when the sun hit it around 9AM..the snow turned to straight butter..fast but carvable..The sharp right corner was delicious..one run there was skier on the left and snowboarder on the right and they both cut across the run at the same time and I weaved the noodle with millimeters to spare..There was a nice lip on the left side of the falls that Toast got booted up the the Stratosphere on..mad steezy air. After 11 runs and 2 hours, the trails started to get really crowded( like 50 people on Tuts lane) and we were in the mood for the Blue mountain Drive Inn..so off we went to bacon, pancake and egg heaven. I should be back at Blue tomorrow after work..I'd like to get a skistreak going..I'm already at 3 days..woo hoo It was 50 degrees when I left Blue and now it's 53 degrees out here in the A. The base is obviously good but there are alot of skeet spots..It looks like a cold front will come through this evening dropping temperatures below freezing..It felt nice just wearing a shell and polo shirt..the underarmour got a much needed break..If you're in the mood to Touch the Sky..Blue mountain is the place with the Poconos coldest 6-pack!!!!
