whatever you do bill don't look at the picture of the day from jay, they probably shoveled all that snow into those spots to make it look like a powder day

in all seriousness though, snow has been better than expected, but there is some insane wind out there -if you are coming north for the weekend pack the skins just in case

I was in Bolton last weekend and it snowed 6" - 8" Friday night into Saturday. If they received another 5" today the cover should be excellent.

I was at Jay all weekend, yes there was snow, but the pictures of the day are a little far fetched. I ski there almost every weekend and there is definately not that much snow. Granted there is a great deal of wind, but come on now. They must look for the biggest drifts they can find.

Stuff that hasn't been skied ever is prolly 20-30 inches deep. The bottom is still that rain layer from almost a month ago up here, haven't been above freezing in a long time. Esspecially in the woods where the wind can't get to it.

When I left there on Sunday afternoon there was not much untracked snow left. I love the place, but it does get tracked out real quick. As has been mentioned in other threads, any sign of powder and people stampede to Jay. Too bad I am stuck at home this weekend. Hopefully we will get some snow next week.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised to see what 10 inches of snow and a steady 25 mph wind can do to refresh surfaces, not on trail but if you go looking in the right areas and more importantly, i the right types of trees you will find multiple shots similar to those photos

not saying they aren't blasting drifts in the pictures, but there are more than one drift, and isn't that what you should be looking for when you ski

damn! that Bush-to-Jay golden ridge got 10-16 over the past two days. That wind should have moved it under cover. Time to hit the woods I think....
