Sort of a follow-up to the lot/lodge thread. I boot up in the lodge most of the time and never had a problem leaving my boot bag randomly in the lodge. I try to stow it in a cubby or hang it on a hook if available or out of others' way as much as possible. You?

I've never had a problem with anything going missing in lodges over the years. I'll use whatever is available to me-hook, atop the pay lockers, cubbie, or under the wall-end of a table situated as such.

Pretty much will put it in a cubby or on top of something. Not a fan of sticking it under a table to be kicked or get in the way.

I don't use a boot bag..I just carry my boots into my car each morning I ski..the only time I use a boot bag is on ski trips. If I did boot up in the lodge..I'd lock up my boot bag though..I think skiers who leave their gear unattended are pretty freaking naive..

Hook, cubby, or on top of lockers. I never leave stuff at the table. I get annoyed when people do it and it gives people an excuse to handle/move your stuff.

At my home hill I have a locker. 200bucks. Fit my skis and my girls.

At other hills I just put the bag where ever I can find room.

Had one pair of skiis stolen in my life. One to many but what are you going to do

The island of misfit toys.
I use a boot bag. Sometimes I'll pay for a daily locker and sometimes I won't. Depends on the mountain or if I brought a camera that I want to stash for a while.

How many girls does the locker hold?? And why the heck aren't they out on the hill with you??

I really hate the bags under the table thing. It's a major irritation to me. Some folks seem to think they're making a claim on the table for the full day. I recall having lunch one day when a woman comes over and says "this is our table, this is all our stuff under it." We just shrugged our shoulders and continued to eat our lunch. Depending on what we have we either rent a locker or just find a shelf.

Pretty funny. Like nobody should be allowed to sit there all day?

I'll stow under a table as a last resort, but will try my best to put the bag in such a way that it least disrupts people, i.e. along the wall end.

I hate this too. Mount Snow started a new policy last year. On weekends no bags are allowed to be placed anywhere in the main lodge except at the no charge bag check. The bag check is staffed full time from before the lifts open until about an hour after the lifts close. It works great. The staff will pick up and check any unattended bags. I think Stratton and some othjer resorts also do this. There are still the few table hogs that try and save a table all day. When they say "these seats are taken" I sit down and say "fine I'll move when your friends return".

There aren't any cubbies in the lodges I use most of the time so I put my bag on a hook or up against a wall. Never had any problems.

I hate when people reserve a table for the day due to putting their bags under it or on it..This season I'm making a point to move any bags I see at least 50 yards as punishment for these people...lol

Cracks me up!

I do a volunteer thing designed to take a little of the stress off of the Ski, and Host Patrol, and get people, at least ten, or fifteen times a season asking me to kick people out of a table 'cause they've thrown their stuff under it.

I try not to laugh, mountain representative, and all, but, until it happened with members of the women's Swedish National team, I broke up every time.
