boot demo'ing?

Ski demo'ing is common. Has anyone ever heard of demo events for boots, or shops that let you demo ski boots? I'm guessing it doesn't happen, but just wondering if anyone knows otherwise?

I'm long overdue for new boots. I tried to make a switch a few years ago but failed miserably and reverted to my trusty but tired old boots.

Only place I know is Dodge boots on Vermont that lets you demo boots, but they are $$$$ and are really only for racing.

Don't know of any place and I'm not sure it's very practicable. Most good fitting boots are going to require some grinding and modifications to get them to fit well.

I think Mtn Side at Wachusett had a few boots you can demo.

RIskier, Agreed about the need for custom work for fit (a given with my feet), though Im interested in demoing for performance & stiffness, not fit.

I'm not sure what sort of "performance" qualities of a boot you could discern when it doesn't fit your foot correctly.

I can tell you that they are a level above, as my son races on these boots.
