So will the Maine Pass be valid at Loon now too? Or just discounted tix similar to what it offers at Big Sky and their other resorts? Either way I feel like it remains to be seen whether this is a good thing or a bad thing....Boyne is definitely making a huge run.

Rumours posted by other weeks ago said 10 days would work. Sounds complicated cause they have to cover the threedom passees. I hope in the Az challenge Sk answers that question.

Loon is a great place that needed help to expand. They have it. The day trip person or easy weekender will benefit big time.
anyone want to buy a condo near here?

In my mind, northern New England
If they let Maine Pass holders use their western resorts privileges at Loon, I hope they're usable during blackout dates in Maine. That way, I get to make up the blackout days by skiing in NH instead. Never been to Loon but it's good to have a nearby resort in the Boyne fold. All we need now is for Boyne to acquire a Vermont resort and we've got northern New England covered -- just like the old All-East pass!

So far I gotta say, other than that fluff piece about some co. in BC writing a story for 'em, Boyne looks like they are making all the right moves....My buddy who works for Booth Creek was pissed when I showed him this, thinking he couldn't ski Loon anymore, but sure enough the Threedom will still be good this winter. Just seems like Boyne is doing everything in their power to keep everyone happy, at least for now. I would love to see them buy a few more places and get something similar to the A41 pass going again. At least then we'll have a cheap pass that works at a bunch of mountains in the Northeast...cuz the passes out west make us look stupid for spending the amount we do for less goods.

different scenario...ASC financed the deals with pricey money, CNL is acting like the bank, holding the assets, leasing them to Boyne...Boyne doesn't have to pay to buy the mtns, just to run them...like paying rent rather than a mortgage.

not to mention ASC took on way too many developments...they were playing with money they didn't even have, hoping the ROI would happen before they got sucked under...didn't work.

Just so I understand this ..Booth Creek sold its interest in loon, who was in a lease agreement with CNL, to Boyne who will continue to lease from CNL ... I thought CNL owned Loon and Bretton Woods and they were leasing the mountain to the current operators.

CNL bought Loon and Bretton Woods, but leased Loon back to BC, in which the lease was turned over to Boyne. I don't think CNL leased out BW--I believe they both own and operate BW, but not positive.

In terms of season passes, my guess would be that everything will just continue as normal for the coming year, with the Threedom Pass working at what people originally bought it for, and the Maine pass working at what they bought it for, maybe with some days thrown-in at Loon for Maine Pass people. Loon probably won't be added to passes as an equal until next season, but who knows--maybe they want to create a good first impression, as opposed to Powdr Co.
