Bretton Woods - 3/4/06

Hey, who expected powder?

Kick ass day, no one was skiing the non-groomed, the fools! We had lots of great runs, no lift lines, and about 12-18" of light, fresh snow. We didn't get many first tracks but we didn't care.

Thanks for sharing the video. It looked so cool. I'm going to Bretton Woods this coming weekend and am hoping for some good conditions... Never skied there before.

Ah, well, yes. It's all gone. Sorry, but don't expect much to be left.

David's right. There wasn't.
Some wet, loose granular stuff on softening ice pack - that's on the snow making trails.
All the natural trails were roped off.

David' s video looks great. Actually, under those conditions any ski area would be great.

This past Saturday was my very first visit to Bretton Woods. Great vews of Mt. Washington but over all, a big yawn as far as the terrain is concerned.
The crowds were substantial.
It's sort of like Sunapee but with more expensive looking condos - I'm surprised people would spend a good coin to buy a condo at a mountain with such mediocre terrain.

Maybe the XC is really good over there.
