Bromley on Saturday was in great shape given the circumstances. They had made snow recently on Sunset Pass, Twister, Cork Screw, Pabst Panic and Peril. The snow they made was outstanding and it was very nice skiing. Panic had huge whales. The the rest of the terrain skied well especially later when it warmed and softened up. From a comfort perspective, certainly the day of the year with upper 30's and sun. Good crowd too which they (everyone) needs after the flood of MLK and the Christmas freeze out.
Glad to see the snowmaking back up and running.
Sunday was....not so nice. It rained a bit over night but was 35 at 8:30. I thought it would be soft(er) given temps never went below freezing but it set up big time and was outright dangerous. One run and out. It would seem they groomed overnight and then it rained and froze, rather than doing a morning groom to loosen things up just before opening. Oh well.
The damage from the warm sun on Saturday and overnight rain - and the rest of the f'ing thaw over the past couple of weeks - made things just bleak today. The pattern is about to change and I hope it holds off on the extreme cold and focuses on extreme snowfall!
