Buddy Trip Traditions

I've got my annual trip coming up. Our traditions are to begin planning it in August at Tunxis Plantation GC, schedule it for what hopefully will be among the coldest weekends of the year and we spend the first day scouting the mountain for a perfect downhill race course, top to bottom, then hold our annual downhill the second run of Sunday morning.

Anyone else got cool "guy trip" traditions?

Buddy Trips

I used to make an annual trip (sometimes two) with 1 - 3 "buddies" to Utah some time in Feb or Mar. Now that I moved to UT I am waiting for my "buddies" to come to stay and ski with me.

Generally, our weekend trips involve a Friday night drive up to VT that means a late arrival time. To ensure that we don't stay up all night, we begin drinking a power hour a soon as the suitcases are in the rooms. First we just used a stop watch, then started burning cds w 1 minute segment of music, then came mp3/iPod playlists of same, and then further Ski-focused ones. My one buddy is almost done with his video power hour, so that will be the next step...

Yeah, pretty much anything about marmots. The more juvenile the better. Heck, they don't even have to make sense.

There used to be The Tragic Camping Weekend in Franconia. Eventually the campground banned us.

Then there's the Saco in June. Spring break in NH for old guys.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with skiing but the world is safer that way.

When my buddy visits me in Jackson Hole from Bozeman, shots of Jameson, Bubbas BBQ, hustling locals at darts in the Rancher, and hitting on cowboy waitresses usually occur..along with Bozeman Barking Spiders..:dunce:

Well done... I blasted Zappa when i went to BigSky/Bridger.... But nobody on the trip understood the signifigance of Montana...
