Date(s) Skied: 12/15/09
Resort or Ski Area: Camelback
Conditions: Soft, Springlike Snow
Trip Report:
Started at about 11:30 and temps were probably in the mid 40s. Not much terrain open (I think they were calling it 9 trails), but what was available was nice. The coverage was good and the surface was very carveable. After about 45 minutes, I skied up to the lift and who was standing in line in front of me but Glen Plake sporting the full-on mohawk. My first thought was "damn, that's Glen Plake". Then I thought "what's he doing here?". At the top, there was a film crew waiting for him. They skied halfway down Marjie's Delight, did whatever they came to do and left. I take it as a good omen for the start of the season. Called it quits at about 3pm. It was definitely a good first day out.
