Campagnolo Super Record 11 Rear Derailleur

ONECOL.jpg

Campagnolo considers the Super Record 11 Rear Derailleur the crown jewel of their revamped Super Record offerings. It's not only more of a high-zoot, gee-whiz, techno beauty than the previous version, but they've taken the total weight down to a claimed 155g (19g lighter), by making several physical changes to the derailleur as well as updating the graphics.
The changes are many and some are subtle, so let us take you on a tour from top to bottom. The mounting screw is a sophisticated two-piece, hard anodized aluminum bolt that is lighter and as strong as the titanium bolt it replaces. The upper and lower derailleur body pieces are now made of molded carbon-fiber rather than aluminum, which reduces the weight of those pieces by 43% and increases the stiffness by 290%. This is no small deal as it should make shifting faster and lighter to the touch. The last little touch is the pulley bolts are now anodized aluminum rather than steel. Nothing is too small to re-consider when your goal is building the ultimate derailleur.
As before, the inner and outer parallelogram plates and outer pulley cage is carbon-fiber. Also as before, the upper pulley runs on a ceramic bushing while the lower pulley runs on ceramic bearings. The pulleys themselves, relieved of weight by design, continue the softer rubber found on the 2010 pulleys. The cable fixing bolt is titanium.
The Campagnolo Super Record 11 Rear Derailleur is designed to work with Campagnolo 11-speed cogs and chains and Ultra-Shift Ergopower levers. The maximum cog size is 29 teeth. Please Note: The fixing bolt takes a Torx T25 driver rather than the traditional 5mm hex wrench.
