Date Skied: 12/08/06
Ski Area: Cannon
Conditions: ~8" powder on a manmade base
Trip Report:
I was planning on heading down to Cannon after class today but when I saw the report of 8-10 I decided class could wait. I pulled into the lot just before 9:00 along with a steady stream of people coming to enjoy the free skiing. It was a little chilly but not too bad and wind was not much of a factor at all. The only option off the Peabody Quad was the Links to Ravine. Early in the morning there was heavy traffic and too many people for just one trail, IMO. The Links and the middle of Ravine got scraped down but there was plenty of good snow to be had on the sides of the trail. It was a good day to be out but I wish it wasn't free day so there would have been less people.
