I applaud Dopp for stepping up to the plate and offering to help ensure this lift will be safe to run again. They have the in-house expertise to make this machine right again.

in classic vail style, attitash currently lists 96% terrain open including: avenger, illusion and broken arrow but not wandering.

Good morning skiers and riders. While the Bear Mountain X is currently closed while we investigate how we almost killed a man riding it, we have some exciting news. All of our legendary expert terrain from the Bear summit remains open. Get those skins on!

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve skied there with Castlerock open but it required a traverse across the ridge.

Spruce peak was open at SR and all the runs the year we didn't even have a chair up there after it fell over in the summer. Now that hike up from Borealis and Sirius is rather easy but similar situations.
And yeah, those Spruce runs skied amazingly that season!!

I guess the hike up from Kachina isn't awful. Still think the reason they are "open" is because it looks better in the snow report. Wonder why Wandering Skis isn't included? Less for patrol to have to worry about?

That's a fair crowd in the Bear Peak lot for only one lift out

Lots of smart people thinking as others were not... Those who did got to experience an almost country club like powder day.

Didnt even bother going over to the Attitash side on Sunday

I never made it over to Attitash side either on Sunday. One of the funnest days skiing I’ve ever had. Bluebird and light powder. Short hike from the top of the Abernaki.

They're using Wandering Skis for vehicular travel, presumably to fix the POS lift.

They did state in last Sun./Mon. Snow Report that it was going to closed all week for the MA school vacation week.
I seriously doubt it will open soon. Possibly done for the season, which would be a real shame.
God does Vail Suck.
