uhhh not sure. less than 200 a night i guess. Preferably less than 100, but i know that's probably impossible. I'm planning a guys trip so it doesn't need to be the Waldorf. But not a rats nest either.

As far as I know, the ski dorm hasn't been functioning as a hostel for quite some time. I worked there in 1996. I think it's now a training center for the VT Youth Conservation Corps.

The Roundhearth has cheap digs, I believe.

That's interesting because it still says "hostel" on the outside. I've never had a need to inquire though.

my buddies and i went for a guys trip back in march. we stayed here for $150 for 2 nights.
i don't know what the rate would be now, but i thought it was cheap.

The riverside is def. cheap.

I was under the impression the hostel was still operating. I havent ever stayed there, but when you pass it looks to be in business, have signs out re: Vacancy and such. Can anyone confirm?

Depends when you go, of course, but believe it or not Green Mountain Inn has some nice rates. Probably won't get anything nice (130 and under) til March though.

Try the Mountaineer too. I've stayed there before and it works nicely.

I stayed at the AlpenRose on the mountain road the past two Aprils for 50 bucks a night plus tax..last April I also stayed at the Town and Country resort for 60 bucks a night plus tax..mid season anything around 100 bucks is good for the most budget places..if you don't mind driving 30 miles..stay at the comfort inn near Barre VT for around 70-80 a night.

For New Year's, 4 of us shared a room for 2 nights at the Arbor Inn right on the access road. Came out to about 75 per person per night. The room we had had a king sized bed and a separate room with 2 smaller beds. There was even a sitting area. Breakfast was included and it was great.

Riverside is your best bet. The words cheap and stowe do not match.

The Stowe motel is also cheap..intersection of 108 and route 100..new PieCasso and the Shed

I was by the ski dorm on Sunday. The sign out front said - "Lodging, $12/night". And below it, to no surprise, "No Vacancy."
