Good Lord, precipitation in the form of coal would not be good. Imagine the black streaks on my car windows.

And diamonds would be downright dangerous. Crazy weather.

Do you think you would use warm weather or cold weather wax with coal precip? Definitely rock skis.

Kind of depends on if it's anthracite or lignite. Anthracite, I'd go with cold weather wax.

Also depends on if it falls in Wyoming powder form or West Virginia crude :)

When I lived in West Virginia one winter I swear they were using coal dust instead of salt and sand on the roads. My truck was black all winter. :???:

Looks like the storm tracked west which means mixing with rain at the onset, then possibly heavy to moderate accumulations. Basically I think the shift west is better for Jay but worse for Killington.

Zand or AJ any other opininions? Im waiting for the 12z

I honestly wish we wouldnt get hit by this storm. This storm is going to help northern ski resorts but hurt central and southern ones. So I would rather no precipitation cause it is going to hurt much more than help.

Well starting as rain and changing to a moderate snow accumulation might not hurt. Plus the storm will leave behind a little bit of cooler temps.

To me it looks like 12z moves it slightly back east. This is an enormous storm!!! Lets pray it keeps tracking east a bit. this storm definately has a lot of potential it just depends on the track for who's going to get hammered!

I just hope that Sugarloaf gets buried, this way we will be set up for January and I can enjoy some good skiing after my blackout dates are done. The storm track right now takes the low into the Gulf Of Maine which would be an excellent storm track for lots of snow at Sugarloaf.

The bad news is that Southern and Central New England will get 1-2" of rain which will hurt the local slopes.

A 990mb storm hitting us right on is much better than a monster missing us completly.......we still have the potential to get some good snows out of this thing...
