Ok so 3 days ago we had 85 degrees for a high. This morning when the sun was starting to rise, it was around 50-52 degrees, and I was out in my PT gear (green shorts and green t-shirt) and it was frikin freezing.

What temperature, assuming you aren't layered to the teeth, do you start to feel cold in? This is with no wind chill

Depends on the season. Damp nights in the 30's feel pretty cold in the Fall, but feel balmy in the middle of winter. I dress appropriately for the weather and usually don't feel cold, and even if I do, that's really just a good thing. ;) It amazes me how many people walk around without a hat in the middle of winter. No wonder they're cold. I wear shorts normally if it's 60 degrees and warmer; maybe even on days in the 50's if it's really humid.

put it this way, at what point do you change over from shorts and a t-shirt into something warmer

50's. Depends on humidity. I sometimes wear shorts and a sweatshirt or jeans and a tee shirt...

I'm not sure I can answer the poll since it seems to change with what the normal temp for that time of year is, or at least what I'm used to...

A lot of folks don't shave most of their hair off so they have some built in insulation... ;)

Hey! Don't blame me for embracing my impending baldness. Why fight it? Haven't gotten to the HPD point yet of totally BICing it yet though...:spin:

I have a convertible. The top is down at 50 and above. Well, up to 90 because after 90 its to friggin hot to have the top down.

Jeans and a t-shirt work down to 50. Longsleeve tshirt or very light sweatshirt works down to low 40s.

I usually don't get cold skiing unless it dips below 20. 30 and above is really warm to me, light base layer, windstop, wind pants and that's about it... When it gets to 20, that's when the layers come on.
I've always loved the cold. I'd rather have it 15 degrees than 95 any day of the week

I'm still confused as to whether this is related to temps when skiing or just walking around town. If the former, there certainly aren't enough poll options. ;) My favorite temps for skiing are low to mid-teens. At that temp, I can wear a base layer and an insulated outer layer/shell and be comfortable. Highs below the mid-teens may require an additional base layer. Skiing in the twenties, I'm fine with a tee-shirt, and parka. Above freezing, I lose the shell or the fleece depending on the wind. Above 40, fleece only. Above 50 - long-sleeve short. Above 60 - tee shirt.

I go from shorts and a t-shirt to pants and long sleeves once the temps drop below 55 degrees.

As long as I'm dressed appropriately for the weather, I'm never cold. I take a break to warm up only if the people I'm skiing with need to. More than one warm up session and I run laps until my group comes back out to play.

I do not like temps over 80 degrees. I'm not a summer person.

I'm with you, I like it colder too. I hate the hot, humid summer, especially because of the bugs, ie mosquitoes and black flies.

I do the layering as well skiing, cause when you go to the lodge for whatever reason, its usually pretty hot in there, so everything(that you can reasonably take off), comes off. We've skied in 0 degree temps, just gotta layer and take more breaks..... ;)

It depends. Yesterday, I was outside for 2 hours in sub-50 degree weather in shorts and a t-shirt and it was chilly, but not overly cold. A sweatshirt might've done some good though. I usually wear shorts all the way down into the 30s, especially in midwinter when its "up" into the 30s. I actually consider anything above 80 hot. I don't understand people who like it hotter than that. What so fun about being outside sweating all the time? Plus, when it's cold, you can always add layers. In the summer you can take away as many layers as possible and it would still be hot.

I'm a shorts guy until it's in the 50's and not really sunny. Sunny and mid 50's I might even go with the shorts.
When does coldness kick in- I measure it this way- No matter what I wear I'm just not warm- accordingly I think cold kicks in around single degrees. Even with skiing clothes i think that that's pretty darn cold.
