Gonna be at Loon a few days next week. How are things looking there? Doesn't look like any tree skiing, nor Triple Trouble is open and with no significant snowfall in the forecast, I doubt any of that will open. How's the rest of the mountain shaping up? Are there any of Loon's signature seeded bump runs set up?

Greg,

Followed you over here from another forum, been lurking for a while.

Haven't been to Loon this year. While at Sunapee 3/01, hear second hand the trails had lots of hard granular. The guy said Sunapee was in better shape.
BTW, Sunapee has three mogul fields, most are is excellent condition; ones at express and sunbowl lifts were great. Both are on moderate pitches, the later have dug in troughs that forces you into a absorption/extension movement in the zipper line otherwise it will throw you on your rear. The mogul feild at goosebump was on a steep pitch, it was used for a freestyle event a couple of weeeks ago. This was really hard for me, since then it has exposure to high winds, lots of areas of hard granular between the widely spaced bumps. Fortunately, skier's left had tighly spaced moguls that were soflter.

Thanks and welcome! Hopefully Loon has some bump runs set up. I'm sure they do...

Bumps are set on Flume. I can't contribute, but my kids were in them for the past nine days. If you want some tree skiing, PM me. I made a shot over to the bottom half of Triple with some poacher friends. Little bit of fresh snow and some rock skiis we made some freshies shots were no others have been.

Loon .. Seeded bumps on lower Rum runner and Lower Flume. Plenty of coverage. Tripple trouble and tree skiing are not happening. Plenty of cover on most trails. Skiiing was fairly nice Friday -sunday. Cold and Windy and big crowds. Tues and Friday last week had a decent amount of people. NH vacation week may have had something to do with that. I was part of the vacation week crowd. Picks were upper Flume and Lower picked. Flying fox was in the best shape of the season. Favorite run was upper speak easy to rampasture taking the little cut off at the end of the run on the right back to the gondola. enjoy the week.

My son is on the Snow board Seasonal program, great run deal. Sat was his 1st day back in the program after breaking his shoulder. He said the parks were in great shape.
