Ideas like these just prove what idiots the masses are. Why is it that they speak of the Friday after Thanksgiving as the busiest shopping day of the year and it turns out to be so each and every year. Why don't people just say to themselves, "Gee today is the busiest shopping day of the year, maybe I should wait til tomorrow." Now some genius comes out with this new term for Monday and I bet it will be so, just cause people are told that they should shop on line on this Monday. Just my little rant :)

Not that I go out, BUT, black friday is that way because they drop the prices to ridiculous levels...

A friend of mine waited at a Wallmart in Jersey - got there around 3AM...
He and his sister bought HP laptops for $350

Still think it's insane though... He missed the morning of skiing because of it...

Not sure if it's the same event, but someone told me that some store was selling 386mhz laptops for a good price. I don't think I would take one of those for free.

Explain to me again why it is my responsibility to max out my credit card so retailers can make their sales numbers.

And I should feel badly if the sales numbers fall below last years because?

We try to help out the little guys. Shopping at local artisans, intown shops. More apt to find something clever and less likely to get your car whacked by a mad mall shopper looking for a parking place. Then cataloques and online- no sales tax, free shipping, it is like creating your own sale.

Well did some research, it wasn't a 386. The laptop is like $250 more now. But, you still wouldn't catch me in that line.

Me niether...
I'd rather be on the hill... :)

And that just happens to be were I was. I'll gladly leave the shopping to the masses, which by the way didn't make it to the hill this Friday!
